During the first training session of the Vietnam team at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) on the afternoon of December 4, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) - Tran Quoc Tuan had a meeting with the coaching staff and players, before the whole team embarked on the journey of AFF Cup (new name is ASEAN Cup) 2024.
The VFF President emphasized the significance of the opening match against Laos on December 9, and affirmed his confidence in the ability of the Vietnamese team, especially the leadership of coach Kim Sang-sik.
The VFF leader encouraged each player to do their best in the upcoming match, promoting solidarity and fighting spirit.
Finally, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan gave small gifts to the Vietnamese team as a wish of luck.
According to plan, today (December 5) or tomorrow (December 6), coach Kim Sang-sik will announce the official list of the Vietnamese team participating in the AFF Cup 2024 with 26 players, which means 7 faces will have to say goodbye to the team.
Previously, the coach born in 1972 had called up 3 more Nam Dinh players, including Van Toan, Van Vi and especially naturalized striker Nguyen Xuan Son.
According to the match schedule, the Vietnamese team will face Laos on December 9 (away), Indonesia on December 15 (home), the Philippines on December 18 (away) and Myanmar on December 21 (home).
