In the group stage of the AFF Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team will have 2 matches at Viet Tri Stadium (home field). Accordingly, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will host the Indonesian team on December 15 and the Myanmar team on December 21.
To prepare for home matches, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has opened ticket sales since December 2, with 3 prices: 100,000 VND (stands C10-11, D19-20); 200,000 VND (stands A8, B12-13, B17-19) and 300,000 VND (stands A3, A7, B14-15A-15B-16).
After one day of sale, on December 3, VFF announced that the final tickets worth 300,000 VND had been sold. A few hours later, the tickets worth 200,000 VND were also sold out, leaving only tickets worth 100,000 VND.
However, compared to previous tournaments, the Vietnamese team has not created a big "ticket fever". In fact, the capacity at Viet Tri Stadium is about 20,000 seats, half that of My Dinh National Stadium.
In the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup or the 2022 AFF Cup, ticket sales on online platforms always make it difficult for fans to log in due to overload and tickets are sold out very quickly after just a few hours.
On social networking sites, "black market" tickets are also being sold at sky-high prices. Even ticket brokers at My Dinh Stadium are bustling with activity.
However, the black market for tickets is currently quite bleak. Ticket buying/selling/exchanging groups are only operating at a low level.
This is also understandable given the current situation of the Vietnamese team. The "Golden Star Warriors" have just gone through a series of unsuccessful matches when they drew and lost at home against opponents India, Russia, and Thailand, making fans unhappy.
Currently, fans do not have faith in head coach Kim Sang-sik and his players. Only when the Vietnamese team brings back positive results in the group stage, especially the match against Indonesia, can they meet the audience's expectations.
In addition, an objective factor that needs to be mentioned is the time when tickets go on sale far away from the opening match at home on December 15. Fans even need to consider the performance of the Vietnamese team against Laos (away), then decide to buy tickets to watch the match at home.
