Coach Kim Sang-sik shared before the semi-final match of the 33rd SEA Games men's football tournament, where U22 Vietnam will face U22 Philippines - the team in Group C.
The Korean coach said: "First of all, we are very happy to qualify for the semi-finals of the 33rd SEA Games. However, the goal of U22 Vietnam does not stop here but is to aim for a higher position. Therefore, the whole team will definitely play their best to win.
At the present time, the players are well prepared in terms of tactics, physical strength and spirit. I believe that U22 Vietnam will have a good match tomorrow".
U22 Philippines is one of the teams that created the most surprises at the 33rd SEA Games, when defeating U22 Indonesia - the championship candidate. However, if we look back at their recent journey, their semi-final achievements are no longer too unfamiliar to them.
This is the second consecutive time U22 Philippines has participated in the semi-finals of a regional tournament. Previously, in July, coach Garrath McPherson and his team eliminated Malaysia from the group stage of the Southeast Asian U23 tournament, before stopping in the semi-finals.

Evaluating the opponent, coach Kim Sang-sik cautiously said: "I think the current U22 Philippines is stronger than before they met us. Their key players have returned, helping the team improve their strength and organization."
"Although U22 Vietnam beat U22 Philippines 2-1 in the most recent confrontation, I cannot confirm for sure that tomorrow we will continue to win. Our players are preparing very well and have a certain confidence.
In tomorrow's match, regardless of the scenario, U22 Vietnam will fight their best to win. We play for the national team's goals, for the honor of Vietnam and for the fans" - the captain of U22 Vietnam added.
The 33rd SEA Games semi-final match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Philippines will take place at 3:30 p.m. on December 15.
