After the 1/8 round of the 2024-2025 National Cup, coach Velizar Popov said goodbye to Thanh Hoa club. During his 2 and a half years of association, he and the Thanh team won many achievements such as 2 National Cup championships, National Super Cups and representing Vietnam in the Southeast Asian Cup C1.
In the latest sharing, coach Popov said he is always grateful and appreciates the opportunities that Thanh Hoa has given him. The two sides have had an agreement for a long time and when the right point comes, they will break up peacefully.
"I felt like this was the best time of my career. I want to see if I can do better in a stronger team, a more competitive tournament or even in another continent.
I not only want to stick with Asian football, but also want to return to Europe or try my hand in South America. That was also a big challenge for me. But if I do not have a suitable choice at this time, I will still consider the opportunity in Asia," said Mr. Popov.
The Bulgarian strategist also added: "Currently, I have received two offers from outside of Vietnam and will think about them next week. In addition, I also have 2 offers from Vietnamese clubs, but at this time I want to wait. For me, this is the time to move forward, to move towards a bigger challenge.
