Thailand's futsal team lost to Vietnam in the final match of Group G, causing them to lose the top spot in the group when advancing to the semi-finals.
In fact, the Thai team only sent a weak squad to this tournament. They mainly participated to test the lineup. Many Thai futsal players who reached the round of 16 at the 2024 World Cup such as Muhammad Osamanmusa and Kritsada Wongkaeo did not participate.
However, the home team is still a strong candidate for the championship. Their opponent in the semi-finals is the Indonesian futsal team. This team easily won the semi-finals with three wins thanks to being in a not-so-strong group.
Under the guidance of coach Hector Souto, the Indonesian futsal team has significantly improved their playing style, becoming more compact and disciplined. The strengths of the Indonesian futsal team are their acceleration, strength and effective finishing skills.
Therefore, if the Indonesian futsal team can overcome the pressure from the stands and play with determination, they can completely cause difficulties for the Thai futsal team, and even still have many opportunities to enter the final match.
The futsal match between Thailand and Indonesia will take place at 6:00 p.m. today (November 8), live on the Thai Futsal YouTube channel.
