The Vietnam women's team has entered the first training phase in 2025 with the absence of players from the Ho Chi Minh City team to compete in the semi-finals of the Asian Women's Cup C1. Despite missing many key players, coach Mai Duc Chung has experimented by calling up many young players to try.
The Vietnamese girls have had about three weeks of concentration and experienced three quality friendly matches. The whole team drew 0-0 with the Ho Chi Minh City women's team, lost 1-4 to the Werder Bremen team (Germany) and won 3-2 against U15 Dao Ha (Vinh Phuc). In these matches, coach Mai Duc Chung has increased experimentation, creating conditions for young faces to play more.
According to midfielder Thanh Nha, in training sessions as well as friendly matches, young players have the opportunity to play. They have tried to integrate and leave many impressions.
"Young people are more fighting and eager. We will try our best to gain the trust of the coaching staff and win a starting position. Every friendly match is an opportunity to check physical strength, identify weaknesses and help young players improve," the striker born in 2001 shared.

Meanwhile, midfielder Thai Thi Thao also commented on the integration of young players in the team. She said: "After three friendlies and three weeks of training together, we had a victory. However, the whole team still has many things to practice more.
In the third friendly match against U15 Dao Ha (Vinh Phuc), coach Mai Duc Chung created more conditions for the young players. They had experiences to learn from. The young faces have good points such as confidence, desire to contribute, and playing together, so they are easier to understand and integrate better with the whole team.
The young players have many opportunities to experience because there is still a long time to prepare for major tournaments. In the friendly match against Werder Bremen (Germany), young striker Ngoc Minh Chuyen scored a very good goal, helping the Vietnam women's team make its own mark against the opponent from Europe".

After three weeks of training, the Vietnam women's team has had changes in personnel. The three players who parted ways early include Ta Thi Thuy, Vu Thi Hoa (Ha Nam) and Nguyen Thi Truc Huong (Vietnam Minerals).
In the opposite direction, from May 28, the team welcomed 8 players from the Ho Chi Minh City women's team to compete in the semi-finals of the Asian Cup C1, including Huynh Nhu, Tran Thi Thu Thao, Chuong Thi Kieu, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan, Nguyen Thi Kim Yen, Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi and Quach Thu Em.
It is known that the coaching staff is gradually increasing the difficulty after the friendly matches. The players also have to concentrate to the maximum to be ready to enter the training session in Japan from June 8 to June 18. It is expected that coach Mai Duc Chung will withdraw the list of 26 players participating in this training session.
It can be seen that the Vietnamese women's team is entering the generation transfer phase. This is indispensable but also challenging. However, with the good integration of the young players, with the dedicated guidance of the coaching staff and the seniors, the Vietnamese women's team promises to be a collective solidarity, a continuation and adjacent in the near future.
