Accordingly, 5 faces that had to say goodbye to the team were Nguyen Duc Viet (Ninh Binh FC), Nguyen Hong Phuc (The Cong Viettel), Ho Van Cuong (Song Lam Nghe An), Pham Dinh Hai (Hanoi) and overseas Vietnamese player Alex Bui.
Among them, the two regrettable names are Van Cuong and Alex Bui. They have received great expectations from fans in recent times.

According to the plan, U23 Vietnam will leave for Indonesia on July 14. The head of the team delegation at this tournament is Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation.
Before the tournament, Mr. Tu emphasized that U23 Vietnam is the defending champion of the tournament after two consecutive crowns in 2022 and 2023. However, maintaining the position is a big challenge as opponents in the region are investing heavily in youth football.
Therefore, the whole team continues to promote the spirit of competition to do their best to defend the title and demonstrate the correct development orientation of Vietnamese youth football.
The 2025 U23 Southeast Asian tournament will take place from July 15 to 29 in Indonesia. In the group stage, U23 Vietnam is in the same group as U23 Laos and U23 Cambodia, competing on July 19 and 22.
