At the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, U22 Vietnam will compete under the name of the U23 Vietnam team.
According to the draw results, U23 Vietnam is in Group B with U23 Laos and U23 Cambodia. Meanwhile, Group A has the participation of U23 Indonesia, U23 Malaysia, U23 Philippines, U23 Brunei; Group C has U23 Thailand, U23 Timor Leste, U23 Myanmar.
According to this year's format, only the top 3 teams and the second-placed team with the best results will qualify for the semi-finals.
Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team are considered to be in an easy group when the opponents are not too strong. U23 Vietnam will face U23 Laos on July 19 and U23 Cambodia on July 22.
The semi-finals will take place on July 25, the third-place match on July 27 and the final on July 28.
Previously, U23 Vietnam said goodbye to the first 8 players, Nguyen Quang Vinh, Le Dinh Long Vu, Dinh Xuan Tien, Nguyen Dang Duong, Nguyen Le Phat, Nguyen Bao Long, Le Van Thuan, Dinh Quang Kiet.
Coach Kim Sang-sik will continue to screen the force and finalize the official list of 23 players, before the whole team leaves for Indonesia on July 14.
