Pre-match information
U20 Vietnam completes the preparation phase in Japan before entering the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers at home. Two weeks of training helps the team have more time to check personnel, operate the playing style and get used to the intensity of the match.
In Japan, coach Yutaka Ikeuchi and his team went through 5 friendly matches with teams from top universities. U20 Vietnam won 2 matches, drew 1 match and lost 2 matches. This result gives the coaching staff more data to assess the form as well as the ability to meet the tactical requirements of each player.
Continuous competition during the training period also helps U20 Vietnam have more practical preparation before entering official matches. Through this, Mr. Yutaka Ikeuchi gradually completes the framework for the qualifying campaign.
Right in the first match, U20 Vietnam had to face U20 DPRK. The East Asian team is highly appreciated for its physical foundation, speed and ability to compete. The opponent's tight organized play can also create great pressure on the home team's ability to deploy the ball.
The remaining two matches are against U20 Palestine and U20 Iran respectively. Therefore, Group C therefore requires U20 Vietnam to maintain stability through each match. The advantage of playing at Viet Tri and a good preparation process are the bases for the team to aim for the goal of winning a ticket to the 2027 AFC U20 Championship finals.
