Notably, Nguyen Le Phat continues to contribute when he has experience playing at the U23 level and the national team. This midfielder once won third place with U23 Vietnam at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Finals. Still being old enough to play at the U20 tournament gives Le Phat another chance to play at the youth level.
In defense, Dinh Quang Kiet is a noteworthy name. This center-back has just won the ASEAN Cup 2026 championship with the Vietnamese national team, and is expected to bring the experience accumulated from the national team level back to U20 Vietnam.
Meanwhile, the defenders include captain Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Le Huy Viet Anh, Le Tan Dung, Phan Dinh Bach, Bui Duy Dang. The midfield has Tran Gia Hung, Dau Hong Phong, Nguyen Van Khanh, Tran Hoang Khanh, Dao Quang Anh and Le Phat.

In Group C, U20 Vietnam will meet U20 DPRK on August 31, U20 Palestine on September 3 and U20 Iran on September 6. The matches will all take place in Viet Tri, Phu Tho.
The first team in each group and 7 second-placed teams with the best results will win the right to participate in the 2027 AFC U20 Championship finals.
