On the afternoon of June 22, the Saigon Dragon Cup 2025 National 7-a-side Football Tournament (VPL-S6) - Western region officially closed after nearly 1 month of competition. Of the 8 locations, the Western region completed the journey the earliest, determined the championship and ticket to the final round.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan - Director of VietFootball Joint Stock Company - said that after nearly 1 month of competition, the Saigon Dragon Cup 2025 National 7-a-side Football Tournament - Western region has ended successfully after 3 years of absence.
According to the organizers, 2025 is an important milestone, marking the return of the most attractive 7-a-side football tournament in the West after 3 years of absence. Previously, in 2022, CPL-S1 left many impressions, attracting public attention with attractive matches.

In the Western region this year, the tournament took place from June 8 to 22 at An Binh Stadium, Can Tho. 6 teams competed with Spa Lan Ngoc - Kien Giang, Loc Phat Phuc - Rosie, Phuc Dao Dien, FPT Polytechnic Can Tho, Xay Dung Phan Kha and Tan Tien Cai Lay.
After 5 rounds, overcoming strong opponents, Xay Dung Phan Kha became the champion of the Saigon Dragon Cup 2025 National 7-a-side Football Championship (VPL-S6) - Western region. At the same time, Xay Dung Phan Kha also became the first representative to participate in the national finals in July in Hanoi.

Construction representative Phan Kha said that this was the first time the team participated in the tournament, initially only aiming to compete with all their might, so winning the championship one round early was really beyond expectations.
"Although the preparation was quite rushed, thanks to serious investment and enthusiasm of the board of directors, the team was able to gather quality forces, thereby achieving this result. Hopefully there will be more playgrounds like this to continue developing grassroots football in the West," said Phan Kha, representative of Xanh Dung.
Mr. Phan Kha's team has shown outstanding performance in VPL-S6 in the Western region with a series of 5 consecutive wins. In addition to two dramatic 3-1 victories over Spa Lan Ngoc - Kien Giang (round 2) and 3-2 against Phuc Dao Dien (round 4), the new VPL-S6 champion of the Western region also had three big wins against Tan Tien Cai Lay in the opening match (5-0), FPT Polytechnic Can Tho (7-0) and Loc Phat Phuc - Rosie (8-1). In particular, the match against Phuc Dao Dien was the decisive match for the championship and the ticket to the national VCK of Coach Tran Anh Tuan and his team.
