Practical connection space at enterprises
With the characteristic of a business concentrating a large number of female workers, the grassroots trade union (CĐCS) of YMUV Co., Ltd. and the CĐCS of Freeview Industrial Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) in Tan Huong Industrial Park (Tan Huong commune, Dong Thap province) have proactively implemented the "Pregnant women and raising young children" club model, bringing a useful living space for hundreds of union members.

At YMUV Co., Ltd., where there are more than 3,300 employees with a female rate of up to 81% and more than 9.3% of them are pregnant or raising children under 6 years old, the establishment of the Club (on August 11) has received enthusiastic response from workers and high consensus from the Board of Directors.

The club attracted 105 female union members to participate, chaired by Ms. Bui Thi Trang (staff of the company's Health Department), under the direct management and guidance of the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union. The presence of medical staff helps to implement health care counseling and guidance activities for pregnant women and young children more methodically and practically.
On the occasion of the launch, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones (IPs, EZs) of Dong Thap province also presented 109 essential gifts to members.

Meanwhile, at the Trade Union of Freeview Industrial Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), after nearly 01 year of operation, the Club has affirmed its role as a reliable companion for a large number of female workers.
Recently, on August 13, the Club organized its 3rd activity with the theme "Caring for and recognizing common diseases in children by stage".

Here, more than 65 women were directly shared useful medical knowledge by Master, Doctor Vo Thi Thu Nguyet (Cuu Long Hospital Joint Stock Company), such as: from a reasonable diet, supplementing the correct amount of Choline, DHA for brain development, to scientific prenatal education methods...
The atmosphere of the activity was lively when workers directly asked questions and answered specific questions in the process of taking care of children. At the end of the program, the Executive Committee of the company's grassroots trade union presented essential gifts worth more than 175,000 VND/gift (from social mobilization sources) to the participating women.
Ms. Le Ngoc Phu Nga - Head of the Club at Freeview Industrial Company - confided: "Being a mother brings wonderful experiences, but that journey is difficult if there is a lack of knowledge. The Club is the place to help women equip themselves with the necessary skills to raise their children better.
Accompanying from the Trade Union organization
Assessing the effectiveness of the model, Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy Trang, Vice President of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) - emphasized that the establishment and maintenance of club activities is a practical activity, clearly showing the close attention of the Trade Union organization and businesses to the female labor force.
The club is not just simply a place to exchange experiences or equip knowledge about pregnancy nutrition, mother and baby health care, breastfeeding, balancing work and family; but more importantly, it is also a solid spiritual support.
Through the activities, female workers clearly feel the companionship and sharing from the Trade Union organization and the Board of Directors of the enterprise, thereby increasing trust, peace of mind in labor production and long-term attachment to the unit.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap province - affirmed that this model at enterprises with a large number of female workers is a prominent bright spot in women's work.
In the coming time, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of the province will continue to monitor, support and orient the replication of this model to many other grassroots trade unions in the area, contributing to protecting and maximizing the legitimate rights of union members and workers.
