In a medical environment with work pressure often in a state of overload, ensuring the material and spiritual life of union members is always a top priority for Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trung. For him, the Trade Union is not just a representative organization but must be the most solid support for each medical staff member to feel respected. Dr. Trung shared: "We do not sit and wait for union members to reflect difficulties. The Trade Union proactively goes to departments and rooms, listens to concerns about duty regimes, working environments or pressures from patients to then directly and promptly dialogue with the Board of Directors to remove difficulties.
Over the years, the Da Nang Hospital Trade Union has successfully negotiated specific welfare policies. On holidays and Tet, the bonus level for each union member is always guaranteed at a high level, such as Lunar New Year with a support level of one month's salary and 35 million VND, or holiday bonuses on April 30, May 1 and September 2 reaching from 4 to 5 million VND per person. Not only stopping at bonuses, he and the Executive Committee also organized practical social security activities such as giving gifts to nearly 2,000 union members during Tet, supporting 200 union members in difficult circumstances with cash and necessities, or meaningful "lucky money" programs at the beginning of spring. In 2024 and 2025, he successfully organized tours and resorts for nearly 2,000 union members at many famous tourist destinations. In particular, concern for the future generation through giving Mid-Autumn Festival gifts with a budget of hundreds of millions of VND each year has created a strong bond between the Trade Union organization and union member families.


Unleashing creativity in the medical environment
Not only caring for life, doctor Nguyen Thanh Trung is also a strong inspiration for the scientific research and innovation movement at the hospital. In the period 2023 - 2025, he and his professional department built incentive regulations close to the daily work of doctors and nurses. For him, each initiative, even the smallest one in administrative procedure reform, is a major step forward to reduce worries for patients. As a result, in 2025, the hospital had 18 recognized innovations, including many direct solutions to shorten procedures and reduce waiting times for patients.

He affirmed: "We create all conditions in terms of funding, materials and machinery for doctors and nurses to pilot. All contributions are publicly and transparently honored, helping brothers no longer be hesitant but boldly contribute ideas." Topics such as research on cerebral hemorrhage, underlying hemorrhage or stroke chaired by him not only have high scientific value but also directly improve the quality of treatment at the city's leading unit. Under his leadership, emulation movements such as "Green - Clean - Beautiful", health sector sports festivals or professional sports tournaments such as pickleball, mini football have created a vibrant atmosphere, helping doctors and nurses regenerate energy. With a total contribution of more than 4 billion VND for social and charitable activities in the past two years, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trung has proven the core role of the trade union leader in connecting compassion. These achievements have made him an outstanding individual praised by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and at the same time affirmed the firm belief of the entire team of doctors and nurses in the "captain" of Da Nang Hospital.
