Average income of rubber industry workers increased by nearly 30%

HCMC - In 2024, the average income of more than 81,000 employees of Vietnam Rubber Industry Group will reach 11 million VND, an increase of 29.9% compared to 2023.

On December 19, Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG) held a conference to review Party building work, production and business activities, Trade Union and Youth Union work of VRG in 2024 and deploy directions and tasks for 2025.

According to the report at the conference, although in 2024, VRG's production and business activities faced many difficulties and challenges due to many fluctuations in the world leading to changes in global supply chains and international financial and monetary markets, but with the determination of all VRG employees, along with flexible and synchronous response solutions, the group has continued to develop stably and sustainably.

Total revenue in 2024 is estimated at VND 26,307 billion (105.2% of the plan), pre-tax profit is estimated at VND 4,450 billion (108.4% of the plan) and budget contribution is estimated at VND 6,100 billion (154% of the plan).

The total number of employees of VRG is currently 81,013 (down 2.3% compared to the same period in 2023). Of which, there are 19,857 foreign workers (Cambodia, Laos), 17,269 ethnic minority workers, 34,483 female workers, and 70,914 direct workers.

In 2024, the estimated average salary of all employees in the whole VRG is 7.93 million VND, an increase of 4.7% compared to 2023. The average income in 2024 of employees in the whole group is 11 million VND/person/month, an increase of 29.9% compared to the average income in 2023.

Trade union activities also had many remarkable achievements. In the "Workers' Month 2024", the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union honored 233 outstanding Vietnamese rubber workers, with a total reward of 466 million VND, visited and encouraged 94 workers who had work-related accidents with a disability rate of over 31% with a total of 372 million VND, supported 49 workers with serious illnesses with a total of 490 million VND, supported the construction of 64 "Union Shelters", and repaired 23 houses with a total of 5.17 billion VND. The budget for implementing "Workers' Month 2024" at grassroots trade unions is more than 20 billion VND.

In 2025, VRG sets a growth target and other income of VND 27,494 billion, pre-tax profit of VND 4,658 billion, after-tax profit of VND 3,929 billion, continuing to ensure jobs, wages and income of employees.
