Attending the conference were comrade Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Toan - Member of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Director of the Department of Party and Political Work of the Ministry of Public Security; Major General Ngo Hoai Thu - Deputy Director of the Department of Party and Political Work of the Ministry of Public Security; Colonel Luong Ngoc Dung - Deputy Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of the People's Public Security Trade Union and representatives of leaders of functional units under the Ministry of Public Security.
According to the People's Public Security Trade Union (CAND), in 2024, the CAND Trade Union comprehensively implemented the theme of Trade Union work with diverse content and forms to effectively and practically care for the material and spiritual life of cadres, union members, and workers.
Regularly collect donations, support and assist union members in difficult circumstances, those who have had work-related accidents; support the repair of 23 union shelters and present 13 union shelters with a total amount of 2.5 billion VND...; maintain the projects "Adopted children of the union", "Helping children go to school", "Awarding Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships" to take care of children of union members and officials with serious and incurable diseases.
The "Trade Union Adopted Children" program has taken care of and supported 417 children, with a total support amount of nearly 1.1 billion VND.
In 2025, the Public Security Union identified 3 key tasks: Promoting welfare activities, caring for, ensuring benefits, improving the material and spiritual life of union members, effectively organizing dialogue with Party committees and leaders to ensure policies and welfare for union members;
Focus on perfecting the organization and operation of the People's Public Security Trade Union according to the new organization of the Ministry of Public Security, developing union members, and establishing trade union organizations in units that meet the prescribed conditions;
Build a statistical data system on organizations, union members and union activities.
Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu assessed: "In 2024, the Public Security Trade Union at all levels made outstanding efforts, achieved comprehensive results, had many marks, clearly affirming the role of the trade union organization in the People's Public Security force".
According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Toan, trade unions must constantly innovate to promote the role of a socio-political organization in attracting and gathering union members according to the orientation of the Party and the State. It is necessary to continue to raise awareness of the will and role of trade unions, taking the lead in performing trade union work and professional tasks.
Also at the conference, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the Emulation Flag to 5 grassroots trade unions with outstanding achievements in trade union activities under the People's Public Security Trade Union; 11 collectives and 15 individuals received certificates of merit from the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
