Innovation in content and methods of operation to attract employees
The Trade Union of Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company has 9 member trade unions and 159 trade union groups. With the unified viewpoint of "Cerning about employees as the focus of development", the activities of the company's trade union are always of interest, support and coordination in implementation by the company's leaders at all levels. Therefore, policies and benefits for employees are always guaranteed. In particular, the network of union cadres has nearly 200 people with a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm in implementing activities. Right from the beginning of the term, the company's Trade Union Executive Committee assigned 1 Executive Committee member, Head of the Propaganda Department (currently holding the position of Head of Human Resources Department) to be in charge of developing union members at the company.
To implement the plan to develop union members of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the company's union coordinated professionally through an initial training program to propagate and mobilize employees to voluntarily participate in the union organization immediately after the probationary period and officially sign labor contracts.
Currently, 100% of employees at the company are union members, of which the number of newly admitted union members in 2024 is 802 people. Despite achieving good results, the company's Trade Union always sets a goal of striving to admit 100% of newly signed labor contracts into the Trade Union organization. Create the attractiveness of trade union organizations by innovating the content and methods of operation to attract employees to join trade unions.
Along with that, the company's Trade Union continues to organize emulation activities and reward union officials with outstanding achievements in developing union members, and union members with outstanding achievements in production.
At Quoc Te Phong Phu Joint Stock Company, the Union has built a collective labor agreement with provisions beneficial to employees such as rewarding employees with technical innovation initiatives, improving labor productivity; constantly renovating offices, workshops and auxiliary works to always be airy and clean, ensuring that employees have good means and working environment.
From the above activities, all employees want to join the union. Because in addition to workers wanting to be cared for and cared for, they also need a strong organization to send and share. Thanks to that, the number of union members of the company has continuously increased every year.
In 2024, the company's union developed 857 union members. The rate of union members is 10,460 union members/10,479 workers (reaching 99.8%). The remaining 0.2% of workers who are not union members are foreign workers.
Applying information technology in developing union members
According to Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam - President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in the coming time, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor strives to have a union membership rate of 100% out of the total number of employees and best complete the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2025, which is to actually develop an increase of 6,750 union members.
One of the proposed solutions is to promote research and application of information technology applications in the development of union members. Continue to guide grassroots trade unions to manage union members on the software system of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Focus on training and coaching skills to develop union members and establish grassroots unions for union officials.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has developed a working plan with units and enterprises on the labor situation, employment, labor relations, and union member development, striving to increase the ratio of union members to the total number of workers in places where there are still workers who have not joined the union.
In addition, it will continue to innovate the content, methods of propaganda, mobilization, and methods of gathering and developing union members. The form of propaganda and mobilization is suitable for each target group, the characteristics of the production and business activities of the enterprise.
