Establishing 70 grassroots unions with more than 9,500 union members
On March 25, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thach - Chairman of the Trade Union of Ha Tinh Economic Zones - said that the unit had just announced the decision to establish the Trade Union of Thuong Du Trading and Service Company Limited in Vung Ang Economic Zones, admitting 123 new union members.
According to the assigned targets, in 2025, the Trade Unions of Ha Tinh Economic Zones will establish 6 grassroots trade unions, developing from 1,300 - 1,600 union members, including additional admissions in units that already have trade union organizations.
According to Mr. Thach, there is not much room at this stage to establish grassroots trade unions and develop union members, but mainly small-scale investment projects that use a small number of workers. Therefore, it is quite difficult to establish a grassroots trade union and develop union members. However, identifying this as a major and key task, the unit will make efforts and be flexible to achieve high results and complete the set targets.
Since its inception (2016) with 13 grassroots unions and nearly 3,000 union members. To date, the Trade Union of Ha Tinh Economic Zones has had a total of 70 grassroots trade unions with 9,514 union members.
Every year, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions of the Provincial Economic Zones Trade Union always meets and exceeds the targets assigned by the Provincial Federation of Labor Standing Committee. That result contributes significantly to the province's overall achievements in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions" - Mr. Nguyen Duc Thach shared.
Many effective solutions
The Chairman of the Trade Union of Ha Tinh Economic Zones said that in the coming time, the unit will focus on a number of solutions to continue to be highly effective in establishing grassroots trade unions and developing union members in enterprises. In particular, focusing on improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities, performing well the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.
Do a good job of propaganda and mobilization with concise, easy-to-understand, easy-to-remember content, focusing on issues of practical significance, directly related to the rights and obligations of employees when participating in the Trade Union organization, voluntarily actively participating in activities of the Trade Union organization.
Make employers understand the role of trade unions in enterprises. Regularly pay attention to the capacity of trade union cadres at all levels in general, especially the skills of propaganda and mobilization to develop union members and establish grassroots trade unions in various types of enterprises;
Regularly organize trade union training for trade union cadres, so that after the establishment of grassroots trade unions, they can come into operation and affirm their position and role.
Promote dialogue and collective bargaining with employers' representatives through annual coordination with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to organize dialogues and share information on the situation of labor relations between trade unions and enterprises in the economic zone.
Expand the channel of information exchange with the Trade Union units of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones in the Northern provinces and the whole country to learn from the experience of application in work at their units.
