As planned, the Vietnam Banking Trade Union will organize a conference to honor 95 outstanding trade union chairmen on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024).
The criteria for selecting the title of outstanding union cadre are union cadres who have continuously held the position of union chairperson for at least 3 years, up to the time of filing the application, and have been annually assessed as having completed their professional tasks well or better. In the past 5 years (up to the end of 2023), they have been awarded emulation titles and commendation forms at the level of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union or higher.
Union officials working at the grassroots trade union have over 90% of the total number of officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers in agencies, units, and enterprises being union members.
In the past 5 years (up to the end of 2023), the Trade Union has been classified as an excellent Trade Union for 2 years or more and has been awarded emulation titles and commendations from the Vietnam Banking Trade Union or higher.
Every year, the Trade Union participates with employers in implementing grassroots democracy according to regulations.
In addition to the above criteria, the Trade Union with a Trade Union President proposing to commend must perform well one of the following activities: having activities to take good care of the material life of union members and workers; the Trade Union actively contributes to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations; the Trade Union performs well the collection and disbursement of Trade Union finances according to regulations, actively participates in social security activities; the Trade Union has specific activities in propagating and educating the law for workers, effectively implementing propaganda and mobilizing workers to study and follow the example, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh...
The second conference to honor outstanding and exemplary grassroots trade union chairmen in 2024 is expected to be held at the end of September 2024 in Hanoi.
