Practicing democracy in many diverse and rich forms

To promote democracy at the grassroots level, the Coal and Mineral Trade Union carries out many activities with diverse forms.

In particular, the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) Trade Union coordinated with specialized agencies to advise the TKV Board of Members to issue the Regulation on implementing democracy at the grassroots level No. 89/QD-TKV, dated January 19, 2024. Implementing the guidance No. 11/HD-TLD dated March 14, 2024 of the General Confederation on Guiding trade unions to participate in implementing democracy at the grassroots level. Giving opinions on the Law on Employment, the draft Law on Trade Unions (amended), the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance; draft documents of the General Confederation and the Group.

In addition, coordinate with the General Director of the Group to direct and organize the 2024 Labor Conference. Through the Labor Conference at all levels, 4,015 labor petitions were received and resolved (of which 3,544 petitions were resolved at the department and workshop levels; 452 petitions were resolved at the Company/Corporation and affiliated unit levels; 19 petitions were resolved at the Labor Conference of TKV Parent Company).

The Labor Conference at the units conducted a confidence poll for managers at all levels, thereby expanding democracy at the grassroots level in assessing the level of task completion of managers.

Through the Conference of Workers at all levels, many documents and regulations related to workers have been developed, revised and supplemented; 68,702 workers have been consulted on the Collective Labor Agreement of the Parent Company of the Group for the period 2024 - 2027, with 12 points more beneficial to workers; 105 opinions have been received to develop, revise and supplement the salary scale, salary table and salary mechanism of the Parent Company - Group, with an average increase of 14%.

The units are interested in organizing dialogues with workers. In 2024, the units organized 271 dialogues at all levels with the participation of 18,813 people and 2,919 suggestions from workers were received and resolved; the units arranged 486 meetings to receive people, of which 743 people were received, 488 opinions of workers were received and resolved.

In 2024, Trade Unions at all levels in the industry organized 101 monitoring sessions on the implementation of the Resolution of the Labor Conference and the Collective Labor Agreement.

In addition to maintaining democratic forms such as receiving citizens and union members; maintaining suggestion boxes; strengthening inspection and supervision of policies and welfare for workers, the Union also organizes a survey of workers about the quality of shift meals, toxic allowances, living conditions, housing conditions, bathing, and working conditions; and all levels of the union provide legal advice to workers.

The units of Hon Gai coal, Ha Lam coal, Nui Beo coal, and Ha Tu coal also coordinated to organize delegates representing coal industry workers to participate in the voter contact program of the National Assembly delegation of Quang Ninh province on the occasion of Workers' Month 2024...

These forms are highly appreciated by workers for their effectiveness in contributing to democracy at the grassroots level.
