On the afternoon of March 25, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh chaired a working session with the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Finance, the Department of Home Affairs and localities to resolve difficulties and problems of the education sector in the 2024-2025 school year.
The report at the meeting showed that in the 2024-2025 school year, districts and cities were allocated more than 260 teacher positions. In the past, some localities have developed a teacher recruitment plan.
However, after the central government's policy on temporarily suspending civil servant recruitment to implement the project to reorganize and streamline the apparatus, localities have temporarily suspended recruitment.
Regarding this issue, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh emphasized that the process of streamlining the apparatus must not affect teaching and learning and the rights of students.
Therefore, departments and branches focus on finding solutions and urgently recruiting teachers to ensure educational activities.
The leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested that for districts that have completed round 1, the Department of Home Affairs should preside over and advise the Provincial People's Committee to request approval from the Provincial Party Committee, and continue to consider/examine the second round.
For districts and cities that have not yet conducted the recruitment/examination, the Department of Home Affairs will advise the Provincial People's Committee to reallocate the payroll in the direction of partly assigning it to the Department of Education and Training, partly assigning it to the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns (after dissolving the district-level administrative apparatus).
Regarding the policy of establishing a "roof" high school class in Quang Hoa commune, Dak Glong district, Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh directed the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Home Affairs to urgently develop a project on an operating model, organization, and teachers with the spirit of " bringing schools to students in disadvantaged areas" and creating maximum conditions for students to go to school.
The Dak Nong provincial education sector is facing many difficulties, directly affecting the quality of teaching and training. Currently, the whole province lacks 1,545 teachers and more than 500 classrooms, causing great pressure on the local education system.
In particular, since Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training took effect, extra teaching and review activities for students have encountered many obstacles.
The reason is that schools do not have enough funding to pay teachers for teaching and training, while current regulations do not allow educational institutions to mobilize funding to support this expenditure.
Faced with this situation, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Nong have proposed that the Provincial People's Committee direct the Department of Finance and relevant agencies to consider and arrange funding to support review teachers for grade 12 students, ensuring good preparation for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.
