The Ministry of Education and Training is developing and finalizing a draft Decree regulating salary policies, allowances, support and attraction regimes for teachers.
In particular, it proposed adding many new types of allowances such as teachers receiving mobile allowances; work responsibility allowances...
These proposals are well received by many teachers, because they not only help them reduce financial difficulties but also show the recognition and encouragement from society for the efforts of teachers in the education cause.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Ms. Pham Thu Trang - a teacher at a primary school in Vinh Thanh commune, Hanoi - expressed her excitement at the proposal to add new allowances.

She said: "Teachers not only do teaching work but also have to do many extra-curricular jobs such as preparing papers, evaluating exercises, organizing experiential activities, contacting parents, and taking care of students' mental health."
Especially for teachers in disadvantaged areas, Ms. Trang believes that the journey to school is sometimes a challenge: traveling a long distance, winding streams, climbing mountain passes, carrying a package of books and teaching aids. The facilities in many small schools are still lacking, teachers have to repair tables and chairs, decorate classrooms, and find every way to give students the best learning environment.
Ms. Trang also emphasized that if there are new allowances, this will not only help reduce the financial burden but also encourage spirit, helping teachers to focus more on teaching and caring for students.
"Each allowance is a message that society still appreciates the teaching profession, understands and shares our hardships" - Ms. Trang shared.
Sharing the same opinion with Ms. Trang, teacher Dao Minh Tam - a primary school teacher in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi - also expressed her support when the Ministry of Education and Training proposed to add many new allowances for teachers.
Ms. Tam shared that this is not only a recognition of the hardships of the teaching profession but also an additional motivation to do a good job of teaching.
For teachers in disadvantaged areas, regional allowances, mobile allowances or work allowances in particularly disadvantaged areas are really meaningful. "This allowance contributes as a support for teachers to feel secure in their work" - Ms. Tam said.
Ms. Tam believes that if these policies are applied from 2026, not only teachers in disadvantaged areas but also teachers in urban areas will feel cared for, thereby increasing motivation to maintain teaching quality and take better care of students.
