Concerns about the salary of class leaders
Despite tirelessly standing in class as those who "keep the fire" silently for knowledge, carrying the hard work and pressure that continues every day, the income of many teachers is still not commensurate with what they have put in and sacrificed for the profession.
After nearly two decades of working in the profession, teacher Nguyen Thi Nhan - a teacher at Huoi Luong Kindergarten (Phong Tho commune, Lai Chau province) - is still dedicated to teaching at a remote school located deep in the border area. But besides her love for her job, she also has a concern that has lasted for many years: The income level is not really commensurate with her efforts and work pressure.
In 2006, when she first started her career, her salary was only nearly 3 million VND/month. After nearly two decades of working, income has increased, but according to Ms. Nhan, "the increase cannot keep up with the standard of living".
" Raising two children alone, paying for rent, living expenses and a series of other expenses have always made my life full of worries" - Ms. Nhan expressed.

Sharing that concern, Ms. Ly Gio Pu - a teacher at Mu Ca Kindergarten (Lai Chau) - has been attached to children for nearly 18 years.
When she first started her career, Ms. Pu's salary was only 1.6 million VND/month. She said that at that time she was young and unmarried, so she was still able to temporarily balance. Currently, her income is better, but in a family of three, she alone has a salary.
" Relatives are often sick, need money for medicine and medical examination and treatment, so that salary is still not enough, life is always difficult" - Ms. Pu said.
Hope for the teaching staff
From January 1, 2026, when the Law on Teachers officially takes effect, the teaching staff will receive the highest salary in the administrative career salary scale system. Along with that, the Ministry of Education and Training proposed to apply a special salary coefficient for all teachers and increase the special allowance for teachers.
In addition to salary, teachers are also entitled to work responsibility allowances, mobile allowances, heavy, toxic and dangerous allowances, depending on the nature and teaching conditions of each position.

For Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhan, raising salaries and adding special salary coefficients is not only to stabilize personal life, but more importantly, to give teachers more motivation and more confidence to continue to persevere with this silent work.
"We hope to have a more worthy salary and allowance regime, so that we can feel secure in sticking with the job and taking good care of our students" - Ms. Nhan shared.
Similarly, Ms. Ly Gio Pu also expressed her joy at knowing that preschool teachers could soon receive a special coefficient. For her, this is a recognition of the silent efforts of the preschool teachers over the years.
"I just hope to have a slightly more stable income to take care of my family and feel secure in sticking with the job for a long time," said Ms. Pu.
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Lanh - a teacher at Dakrong Kindergarten No. 1 (Quang Tri), the new salary policy from 2026 not only improves life, but also creates motivation for teachers to continue to contribute.
"We hope this policy will be implemented soon so that teachers in general and preschool teachers in particular can make a living from their profession and wholeheartedly devote themselves to their students" - she shared.
Ms. Lanh said that for many teachers, the new salary is not only an additional income, but also an affirmation that their efforts are being recognized as worthy.
