Towels are an essential item in daily life, however, after a long time of use and continuous washing, the towel material will be affected.
Towels becoming dry, losing softness and poor absorption is a common situation, so housewives can apply some of the following methods to restore towels to save costs and not take too much time.
White vinegar
One of the main causes of towels becoming stiff is the accumulation of debris from the washing powder and distillate in fabric fibers. To overcome this situation, housewives can use white vinegar to wash towels.
Just soak the towel in warm water mixed with white vinegar for about 30 minutes, then rinse with clean water to help the towel become softer. The reason is because vinegar is mildly acidic, helping to dissolve soap residue, soften fabric fibers and not harm towels.
Baking soda
Baking soda not only has a cleaning effect but also helps soften towels quite effectively. During the machine washing process, add about half a cup of baking soda instead of the usual washing powder. This compound helps balance pH, remove odor and soften fabric fibers without the need for industrial fabric softener.
Instead, changing your cleaning routine such as using warm water, washing thoroughly and rinsing will help prolong the life of the towel and keep it naturally soft.
Dry towel properly
The exposure of the towel is simple but helps protect the material of the towel. Towels need to be exposed in a well -ventilated place, away from direct sunlight because the hot heat peaks in the summer can harden cotton fibers. If possible, use the dryer in a light mode to dry the towel to help the towel always soft and fragrant.
Wash towel separately
When washing a towel with clothes, especially clothes with a sunglet, metal drawers or rough fabric, the fabric of the towel is easily stretched or cotton, leading to loss of the softness of the material. It is best to wash towels separately or choose to wash with light fabrics such as cotton T-shirts to reduce friction.
