On May 25, Mr. Nguyen Thien Tam - Chairman of the Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union said that he had visited, encouraged and presented gifts from the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the area.
On this occasion, 8 union members from grassroots trade unions directly under the Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union received support. Each gift is worth 500,000 VND in cash.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thien Tam, although the gifts are not large, they show the concern and sharing of the trade union organization with union members and workers working on islands far from the mainland during Workers' Month 2026.
In Phu Quy Special Zone, living, traveling and working conditions for workers are still difficult due to the specific characteristics of the sea and island area. Therefore, timely care and encouragement activities of the trade union organization not only provide material support but also add motivation for union members to feel secure in working and attached to their work.
In addition to care activities, the Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union also directly meets, propagates, and mobilizes the establishment of grassroots trade unions at Con Dao - Phu Quy Joint Stock Company and Tuan Tu Sea and Island Investment Joint Stock Company.
Through exchanges, businesses basically agreed and paid attention to the establishment of trade union organizations to care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of employees at the unit.
According to the Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union, the activities in this year's Workers' Month in the frontline island continue to affirm the role of the trade union organization in accompanying union members and workers. At the same time, promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots trade unions in the new situation.
