Adding motivation to dialysis patients in difficult circumstances

MINH CHÂU |

Hanoi - May 9, a dialysis patient in difficult circumstances at Hoe Nhai General Hospital was supported by a charity group with 30 million VND.

Patient P.T. T (born in 1985, Hanoi) suffers from chronic kidney failure, diabetes and severe heart failure, and has been undergoing hemodialysis for many years. Currently, the patient's health is depleted, and her weight is only 33kg.

Her husband died early when her child was only 2 years old, and she did not receive much support from relatives, so the two mothers and daughters had to fend for themselves to cover living expenses and treatment costs. Despite her weak health, the patient still tried to work online at home to earn extra income. Due to difficult family circumstances, the patient's daughter, currently in 11th grade, also has to work part-time to help her mother.

This morning, the Tu Tam charity group represented by Ms. Phan Thi Thu Ba presented 30 million VND to patient P.T. T. This is a support fund sponsored by a couple in the charity group.

According to Ms. Thu Ba, the charity group and philanthropists hope that the small gift will add motivation for patients to maintain an optimistic spirit and continue to be a support for their daughters in their journey to adulthood.

Moved by receiving the care of the hospital and philanthropists, patient P.T. T said that she had fallen into despair when she first discovered the disease. However, thanks to the encouragement of doctors, other patients and those around her, she gradually gained more strength to continue treatment.

Knowing that my health is getting weaker and weaker, but receiving such attention, I am very touched. For patients like me, spiritual encouragement and economic support are both very precious," the patient shared.

On behalf of the hospital, Master Nguyen Thi Thuy Ha - Party Committee Member, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Hoe Nhai General Hospital - sent her thanks to the charity delegation and philanthropists for bringing both material and spiritual encouragement to patients.

Hopefully, patients will have more motivation to continue treatment, becoming a solid support for their children in the journey ahead," Ms. Ha shared.

In addition to supporting patient P.T. T, the charity delegation also presented gifts including cakes and milk to all dialysis patients in the department.
