Da Nang Trade Union has prepared 1,000 gifts worth 1 billion VND to help workers who do not have the conditions to return home for Tet have another warm "Tet not far from home".

Prioritize people who do not have the conditions to return to their hometown

Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation - said: As part of a series of activities to care for Tet for union members and workers during the Binh Ngo Tet, Da Nang City Labor Federation will give 1,000 gifts to workers at the self-managed worker group in the boarding house area. Each gift is 1 million VND in cash and will be sent directly to workers.

The beneficiaries of gifts this time include: Single female workers raising young children, in difficult circumstances, residing in the self-managed worker group of the Hoa Cam Industrial Park dormitory and worker housing, prioritizing cases that do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns and have to stay in Da Nang to celebrate Tet. In this program, the Da Nang City Labor Federation organizes delegations to visit and give gifts at the worker's residence from the 23rd to the 27th of Tet. The City Labor Federation also organizes a program to meet, encourage and express gratitude to the Management Board of the self-managed worker groups of the dormitory.

Ms. Le Thi Be (worker at Foster Electronics Co., Ltd., Hoa Cam Industrial Park) could not hide her excitement. "Hopefully this Tet I will have gifts from the Trade Union again," she said. Ms. Be is a single mother raising 2 young children, living in a rented house. Although her hometown is in Phu Loc, Hue city, only less than 60km from Da Nang, for many years now, every year when Tet comes, she decides not to go home because of financial difficulties. "Tet away from home is also very sad. However, due to the gifts and the encouragement and concern of the Trade Union organization, I still hear my heart warm," Ms. Be said.

Not only the Trade Union cares about workers

The program of giving gifts to workers in self-managed worker groups in boarding houses and worker housing has been regularly maintained by the Da Nang City Labor Federation for many years. The special thing is that in recent years, in addition to the leaders of the City Labor Federation visiting, many worker households residing in self-managed worker groups in boarding houses have also been regularly visited, encouraged and given gifts by leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Da Nang during Tet.

Workers like us are very touched and grateful to welcome the leaders of the Trade Union organization and the City Party Committee and People's Committee during Tet. This shows the deep concern of the city leaders for us - hard-working workers who do not have the conditions to return home for Tet like other colleagues," said Ms. Duong Thi Mai (from Ha Tinh), a worker at an electronics company in Da Nang.

Ms. Mai recounted that both husband and wife are workers. For many years, due to work and income, the following year is usually more difficult than the previous year, and the 3 children are of school age, with high expenses, so the family is always in a state of shortage, so in recent years her family has stayed to celebrate Tet in Da Nang.

The visits, words of encouragement and gifts from the Trade Union and the city make my family always feel that Tet is not far from home," Ms. Mai confided.

We organize programs to visit and give gifts with the aim of helping union members and workers who are still in difficulty, especially those who do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns for Tet but still feel the closeness and warmth of family affection," Mr. Le Van Dai informed.

Giving Tet gifts to 74 self-managed worker groups in boarding houses

In addition to giving Tet gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns for Tet, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also gave Tet gifts to 74 self-managed worker groups in boarding houses, each group 1 million VND to encourage the management board.
