Strive to admit at least 10,000 new union members
Workers' Month 2026, city trade union levels plan to organize practical and effective activities with focus and key points, towards grassroots levels; taking union members and workers as the center.
According to Mr. Vu Ngoc Thuc - Trade Union Affairs Committee of Hai Phong City Labor Federation, it is expected that during Workers' Month, Hai Phong City Labor Federation will provide funding to support the construction and repair of 20 "Trade Union Shelter" houses, and provide allowances to 1,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, each worth 1,000,000 VND.
Trade union levels are also reviewing and listing cases of workers who died in labor accidents in the first 5 months of 2026 to award allowances during Workers' Month with a level of 10 million VND/case; coordinating with specialized units to organize free periodic health check-ups for union members and workers with a number of about 10,000 people (prioritizing workers in heavy, hazardous, and female-related industries). The City Labor Federation is also listing free motorcycle lubricant gifts combined with vehicle inspection and maintenance for 10,000 union members and workers... The total budget for these activities is estimated at more than 8 billion VND.
Workers' Month will also be a peak month for union member development of Hai Phong Trade Union levels with the goal of admitting at least 10,000 new trade union members. The City Labor Federation promotes emulation movements for workers, civil servants and laborers, focusing on the emulation movement "Good Labor - Creative Labor", striving for at least 120 topics and creative solutions proposed for the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to award "Creative Labor" Certificates, of which at least 90 topics and creative solutions are recognized; 100 typical union members and workers are awarded "Good Labor" certificates by the City People's Committee and the City Labor Federation. Also in Workers' Month and Work Safety and Hygiene Month, Trade Union levels organize propaganda and skills training for more than 1,000 safety members; inspect 20 grassroots trade unions...
Each grassroots trade union has at least 1 activity during Workers' Month
The City Labor Federation strives for each commune, ward, special zone, and grassroots trade union directly under it to organize at least 1 large-scale cultural and sports activity to attract and gather union members and workers, creating a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, so that Workers' Month is truly a big festival for union members and workers.
On the side of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, an online photo contest "You are the color of March sunshine" was launched in response to Workers' Month 2026; to date, it has attracted nearly 10,000 entries. The mid-morning physical education contest "Hai Phong workers healthy and beautiful" in 2026 has also just been launched, spreading widely throughout grassroots trade unions. Special performances will also be featured in the launching ceremony of Workers' Month 2026, scheduled to take place on April 25 in the west of the city. The 2026 men's and women's union member and employee football tournament is also being urgently implemented with the largest number of participating teams ever, promising to bring an attractive playground for nearly 650,000 workers throughout the city.
Grassroots trade unions are also implementing activities to respond to Workers' Month and major holidays in April and May.
