Always remember the meaningful caring activities during Workers' Month
Workers' Month 2025 has passed for half a year, but Ms. Ngo Thanh Mai - a worker at Ha Phong Garment Export Joint Stock Company (Bac Ninh province) - still remembers the meaningful activities that the grassroots union coordinated with the company to organize for workers. One of the memorable activities is the "Union Meal" program - an occasion for all union members and workers (Union, Labor) to gather together. That meal was very like a wedding and everyone could talk about work and life, said Ms. Mai.
Another meaningful activity is the company sports festival program. Not only workers, this event also had the participation of relatives. Ms. Mai took her children to attend sports festivals, cheering for parents' competitions such as tug of war, folk games, volleyball, etc. The children were also given milk and gifts. This is a memorable memory for workers and their relatives.
According to Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, caring work continues to be a highlight in Workers' Month 2025, with widespread scale and coverage. During Workers' Month 2025, more than 1.4 million units and employees were supported and cared for, with a total cost of more than 265 billion VND; 1,010 newly built, repaired and handed over Trade Union Shelters with a total support amount of more than 24 billion VND...
In parallel with material care activities, trade unions at all levels have promoted the organization of cultural and sports activities, practically taking care of the spiritual life of union members and employees. According to the data compiled from the 2025 Workers' Month report, there are 16,418 trade unions organizing 20,488 cultural and sports activities such as football, volleyball, tug of war, sack jumping, workers' singing, cross country running, folk dance competition... attracting over 10.1 million members and workers to participate...
Linking initiatives with digital skills training
Another outstanding activity in Workers' Month 2025 is the program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era". The program has been implemented synchronously and extensively by trade unions at all levels under the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
According to the summary report from the units, 826 "Creative Day 2025" were organized, attracting 152,450 members and employees to participate. The highlight of the program is the close connection between technical initiatives, improving production and management processes with digital skills training, thereby contributing to promoting digital transformation and applying modern technology in the workplace.
In addition, the "May Dialogue" Program has truly become a democratic, practical and effective forum, contributing to strengthening the voice and role of the Trade Union organization in representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.
During Workers' Month 2025, more than 7,398 dialogues were held synchronously at all three levels of trade unions, attracting 545,763 union officials, union members and employees to participate. Thereby, over 26,000 comments were recorded, focusing on urgent issues of union members and employees such as employment, income, social security and working conditions.
The highlight of this year's implementation is the combination of dialogue and field survey, contributing to increasing depth in listening to and understanding the thoughts and aspirations of employees; thereby improving the quality of proposals and the effectiveness of policy responses.
During Workers' Month 2025, 1,339 forums "Party with workers - Workers with the Party" were held, attracting 136,467 members and employees to participate.
At the grassroots level, many trade unions have focused on improving the quality of negotiation, signing and supervision of the implementation of collective labor agreements (CLAs). Many collective labor agreements have been signed with provisions that are more beneficial to employees than those prescribed by law, such as: Support for shift meals, increased mid- shift leave, childcare allowances for workers' children... These contents not only affirm the role of trade unions in collective bargaining, but also contribute to substantially improving the living and working conditions of employees.
