On September 17, the Bien Hoa City Labor Federation said it had guided and supported workers with legal procedures to submit to authorities to claim their rights due to being owed wages and social insurance by King Minh Ceramic Tile Manufacturing Company Limited and Dong Nai Granite Tile Company Limited (Phuoc Tan Ward, Bien Hoa City), for about 200 workers.
Previously, on August 27 and 30, the Bien Hoa City Labor Federation worked with the company, grassroots unions and union members to grasp the situation of salary arrears and social insurance arrears of employees, and requested the company to pay the remaining months' salaries to employees.
After that, the company paid 50% of July 2024 salary to workers of both above companies.
The company still owes 50% of July 2024 salary and 100% of August 2024 salary.
On September 16, workers from both companies gathered in front of the company gates and went to the authorities to demand their rights.
In addition, King Minh Ceramic Tile Manufacturing Company Limited and Dong Nai Granite Tile Company Limited also owed social insurance to employees for many months.
Bien Hoa City Labor Federation has requested competent authorities of Bien Hoa City to take measures to support workers to soon stabilize the situation and workers to soon receive their owed wages.
The Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor's Legal Consulting Center also assisted workers in drafting complaints to send to the authorities.
Also related to the case of King Minh Ceramic Tile Manufacturing Company Limited and Dong Nai Granite Tile Company Limited owing wages and social insurance, on September 17, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Cao Duy Thai - Chief Inspector of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province said that workers have the right and obligation to submit a petition to the department for settlement according to regulations.
