Impersonating Social Insurance officers
A representative of Khanh Hoa Social Insurance (BHXH) said that in early September 2025, social insurance units in the province continuously received information from people about people claiming to be Social Insurance officers calling to request information and personal data.
According to Mr. T.N (67 years old, retired, residing in Xuan Hai commune), he recently received a call from a person introducing himself from the Social Insurance agency.
This person informed by phone that his social insurance card had expired and asked Mr. N to include a link to transfer the extension fee.
This subject also manipulated the psychology, urging Mr. N to perform quick installation operations to keep up with office hours, to avoid wasting time going to the Social Insurance agency to pay.
Believing the subject, Mr. N installed a link according to the instructions and just a few minutes later, the amount of 149 million VND in his account was taken away.
Similarly, Ms. T.N.M.N (46 years old, working at a primary school in Xuan Hai commune) was also called by a subject claiming to be from the provincial Social Insurance and asked to provide information.
After performing the operations, the person instructing Ms. N lost 58 million VND in her account.
Raising vigilance against new scams
According to Mr. Pham Xuan Hai - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Social Insurance, recently, many opinions have reflected from people and workers about some subjects impersonating civil servants working at the Social Insurance agency calling to request personal information to resolve the regime.
In particular, people are required to provide and update their citizen identification cards, email addresses, etc. to the VssID-BHXH digital application via a link with the reason of incorrect information.
Or request a Zalo friend on the phone to guide the adjustment, guide the Social Insurance agency to update the application due to incorrect information.
Mr. Hai affirmed that currently, Khanh Hoa Social Insurance does not have a policy of calling or texting to request participants and beneficiaries of social insurance and health insurance policies to update information on the VssID-BHXH Digital application or to conduct transactions as above.
Khanh Hoa Social Insurance recommends that policy participants and beneficiaries need to increase updating information about social insurance and health insurance policies; regularly monitor announcements from authorities on methods and tricks of crime and fraud on mass media. At the same time, do careful research before conducting transactions on the network environment.
