On December 22, the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor presented 5 charity houses to 5 union members and workers with difficult housing circumstances in the area.
Mr. Tran Van Dien (residing in Long My commune, Giong Trom district, Ben Tre province) is working as a worker at Jea - Must Vietnam Company Limited - said that his average income is about 5.5 million VND/month, just enough to cover his daily expenses. Therefore, the dream of building a house is beyond his reach.
“My family is a poor household in the commune, so when I heard that the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor supported 50 million VND, I was very happy. My family will use this money to build a house,” said Mr. Dien.
Similar to Mr. Dien, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (living in An Ngai Trung commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province) is working at JSB International Vina Co., Ltd. - said that due to difficult family circumstances, the dream of building a house is very far out of reach for her.
“The support of 50 million VND is a small amount for many people, but for my family it is a huge amount… This amount of money will help me have more funds to build a permanent, solid house to live in,” said Ms. Thuy.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor - said that on December 22, Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor presented 5 union members and workers with a total amount of 250 million VND to help them have funds to build houses.
“The five union members and workers above all have difficult housing circumstances and are also poor households in the area. After receiving the information, the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor mobilized donors to help them have funds to build houses,” said Mr. Linh.
Mr. Linh shared that the housing needs of union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the area are still very high, while the support funds of the Trade Union organization are quite limited. Therefore, it is necessary to have the attention and support of all levels, sectors, business units, philanthropists... to help workers in difficult circumstances with specific and practical actions, contributing to bringing a stable life.
In the coming time, the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor will direct all levels of the local trade unions to continue to call for and mobilize resources to join hands to help union members and workers overcome difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives. All levels of the Ben Tre Provincial Trade Union will also continue to review and promptly support union members and workers in difficult housing circumstances to help them settle down and find work.
