The free lens replacement surgery program for union members, workers and relatives in the city is implemented by the City Labor Federation in coordination with Hanoi - Hai Phong Eye Hospital. In the period from November 2025 to April 2026, units successfully performed lens replacement surgery for 510 cases, with a support budget of 5.1 billion VND.
According to information from the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, the entire surgery was performed safely, in accordance with medical technical procedures, ensuring the use of high-class intraocular labels with clear origins. Patients are cared for with high-quality medical services, supporting free re-examination for 6 months until vision is stabilized. Up to now, the vision of the cases has improved significantly, recovered quickly, and no serious post-operative complications have been recorded.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Phiet - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City Labor Federation - said that the free lens replacement surgery program has been effectively implemented, bringing practical benefits to union members. At the same time, affirming the care role of the Trade Union organization in the new situation, not only focusing on caring for workers but also expanding the scope of concern and care for their relatives, so that union members and workers can feel secure in working and attached to units, businesses and the city.
In the coming time, the City Labor Federation will continue to maintain and expand similar activities, contributing to improving the health and quality of life for union members and workers.
