Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Chairwoman of the Tien Lang Commune Trade Union, Hai Phong City, said that through studying the draft Political Report submitted to the Vietnam Trade Union Congress, Ms. Huong realized that the content of the report has closely followed the reality of the lives of workers and laborers, clearly showing the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in the new period.
Having participated in trade union work for many years and held many different positions, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong hopes that the draft will continue to supplement solutions to build a socialist trade union model in the current situation. Because, according to Ms. Huong, this is a necessary requirement to clearly affirm the position of the Vietnam Trade Union as a socio-political organization of the working class under the leadership of the Party.
Ms. Huong believes that the construction of the socialist trade union model should not only stop at slogans but needs to be concretized by clear criteria, which can be measured through the contents of collective labor agreements. Trade union levels need to continue to improve the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining; focus on practical issues such as salaries, working hours, working conditions, and improving skills and skills for workers.
Along with that, trade union officials proactively advise and coordinate to organize forums and conferences for Party committees and authorities to meet and directly dialogue with union members to promptly grasp their thoughts and aspirations and remove difficulties arising from the grassroots level.
The reality in Tien Lang shows that negotiation, signing and implementation of collective labor agreements at units bring many practical benefits to union members. The Commune Trade Union also regularly maintains dialogues between the government and workers, contributing to timely resolution of many issues related to employment, life and policies" - Chairman of the Commune Trade Union said.
In addition to the task of caring for and protecting the rights of employees, Ms. Huong also emphasized the role of the Trade Union organization in participating in Party building and developing party members. The Trade Union actively propagates, discovers, and fosters outstanding union members to introduce to the Party for consideration and admission; and proactively coordinates with relevant agencies in building Party organizations in enterprises. This will be an important premise for the establishment of Party cells in enterprises in the spirit of Resolution No. 28-NQ/TU of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee on building, consolidating and developing Party organizations in non-state enterprises.
