On the afternoon of September 10, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (CLF) coordinated with Thien Loc Thang Agricultural Company Limited to organize a ceremony to announce the Decision to establish a grassroots trade union (CDCS) and launch the Provisional Executive Committee of the Trade Union at the enterprise.
With the guidance and support of the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, the Mobilization Committee for the establishment of grassroots trade unions has actively promoted and mobilized workers to participate in the Vietnam Trade Union organization. As a result, up to now, 52 workers have voluntarily applied to join the Trade Union organization, qualified to establish a grassroots trade union according to regulations.
Pleased and honored to be admitted to the Trade Union, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Mai sent her thanks to the Can Tho City Labor Federation and the Board of Directors of Thien Loc Thang Agricultural Company Limited for creating conditions for her and everyone to join the Vietnam Trade Union.
"We promise to comply with the regulations of the Trade Union Charter, seriously implement the assignment of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, contributing to building an increasingly strong organization," said Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Mai.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of Thien Loc Thang Agricultural Company Limited affirmed that workers are always valuable assets, a key factor for the sustainable development of the enterprise.
The establishment of a trade union organization is a correct and practical step, demonstrating the company's commitment to creating a stable, civilized, progressive and harmonious working environment. We expect the trade union organization to be an effective bridge, a trustworthy companion for workers, and to build the company to develop more and more, Mr. Nguyen Minh Thanh emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Thanh also said that the company's Board of Directors always creates favorable conditions for the grassroots trade union to operate in accordance with its functions and tasks, and at the same time, coordinates with the Executive Board of the trade union to better care for the material and spiritual life of workers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of the city, President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation congratulated and acknowledged the efforts and determination of the collective of workers and business leaders in building a trade union organization at the grassroots level.
The establishment of grassroots trade unions is an important first step to protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers; at the same time, creating conditions for them to participate in building a democratic, united and progressive working environment, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai emphasized.
In order for the grassroots trade union to soon become effective, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai suggested, quickly perfect the organization, assign clear tasks; Develop specific operating regulations; Strengthen propaganda and mobilize workers to participate in trade union organizations, contributing to expanding the union force; Closely coordinate with the company's Board of Directors in organizing emulation movements, caring for workers' lives; Pay attention to building a team of workers who are steadfast in political ideology, good at their skills, and strictly comply with labor discipline.
The Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation added that the city currently has nearly 900 grassroots unions, with about 130,000 union members under the management of the City Labor Federation.
