Joy spreads from gifts
Ms. Nguyen Thi To Uyen, in Cho Lach commune (worker at Chanh Thu Fruit Import-Export Co., Ltd.), said that her family is in difficult circumstances, husband and wife work together at a fruit import-export company, income is unstable, so taking care of her children is still very lacking.

According to Ms. Uyen, her daughter born in 2018 is in 3rd grade, every new school year or holiday, Tet is a big worry. "When my daughter receives gifts, I am very touched because I feel shared," Ms. Uyen expressed.
In Tra Con commune, military-civilian Tet activities associated with Chol Chnam Thmay Tet are imbued with cultural identity, so most of the workers' children receiving gifts are Khmer ethnic people, creating a joyful and warm atmosphere.
Ms. Thach Kha My, whose child is in 2nd grade, said that her family is very happy that her child received a scholarship. "The gift is not large, but it helps her child have better learning conditions," Ms. My added.
That joy is not only present through material gifts but also the timely care and sharing from the Trade Union organization, helping young children become more confident and continue to rise up in their studies.
For many workers, the care and concern for their children is the greatest source of encouragement, helping them feel secure in working and long-term commitment to the business and the locality.
Practical care for workers' children
The joy not only comes from workers but also spreads in the government and Trade Union organization when gifts are handed directly to children of workers at the grassroots level, especially in ethnic minority areas.
Mr. Ha Van Thanh Khuong - Chairman of Tra Con Commune People's Committee said that this year's military-civilian Tet activities are associated with the Chol Chnam Thmay Tet of the Khmer people, organized with many practical contents, contributing to taking care of people's lives.
According to Mr. Khuong, the program includes free medical examination and medicine distribution, Tet cake wrapping, and inauguration of rural roads. "In particular, giving gifts to workers' children on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay Tet creates joy and excitement for Khmer people," he said.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that implementing the plan of the Steering Committee for the 2026 Military-Civilian Tet, the Trade Union has implemented many practical activities to care for union members and workers.
According to Mr. Linh, during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the Provincial Labor Federation awarded 60 scholarships to children of workers in 3 communes of Binh Phu, Cho Lach, and Ngai Tu, each worth 500,000 VND, contributing to supporting their studies.

Specifically for the 2026 Chôl Chnăm Thmây Tet holiday, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation awarded 20 more scholarships to children of workers in Tra Con commune, each worth 500,000 VND, bringing the total number to 80 scholarships with a budget of 40 million VND.
Caring activities are not only aimed at workers but also care for their families and children, thereby creating cohesion and helping workers feel secure at work," Mr. Linh added.
According to Mr. Linh, care does not stop at immediate gifts but also aims at long-term goals, contributing to improving the quality of human resources and building a stable and sustainable labor force.
These practical activities have contributed to spreading the spirit of mutual affection, affirming the role of the Trade Union organization and local authorities in comprehensively caring for workers' lives.
