On October 30, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong attended and presented 2 "Union Shelters" to 2 union members and workers with difficult housing circumstances in Ben Tre province.
The “Union Shelter” of Ms. Nguyen Bich Thuy - a union member of Unisol Vina Company Limited (Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre Province) - was built with a total cost of more than 76 million VND. Of which, the “Union Shelter” Fund supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by Ms. Thuy’s family.
The “Union Shelter” of Ms. Ngo Hoang Yen - a union member of Pungkook Ben Tre Company Limited (Giao Long Industrial Park, Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre Province) - was built with a total cost of more than 87 million VND. Of which, the “Union Shelter” Fund supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by Ms. Yen’s family.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor emphasized that the trade union organization has the function of caring for union members and workers in difficult circumstances through many practical programs and activities. In particular, the Trade Union Shelter program operates quite effectively.
Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong hopes that the award of these two “Union Shelters” will help the two union members feel secure in their work and successfully complete their assigned tasks; at the same time, he hopes that the company’s leadership and the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to coordinate to better care for union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
