Traffic congestion has decreased, but not completely
In Nenh ward, Bac Ninh province, there are currently 4 industrial parks in operation, including: Quang Chau, Van Trung, Dinh Tram and Viet Han, with a total of more than 209,000 workers. Quang Chau and Van Trung industrial parks alone have about 190,000 workers. However, attracting a large number of workers while the regional transport infrastructure has not been invested in synchronously according to the approved planning has led to many long-term problems such as: frequent congestion, prolonged congestion; traffic insecurity on expressway service routes, internal roads and external connections between industrial parks and neighboring areas during rush hour.
In recent times, Bac Ninh province has implemented many measures to resolve the above situation such as increasing traffic flow and organization, especially during peak hours; increasing fines; installing a traffic surveillance camera system at important locations to handle violations, and reviewing and repainting road markings, re-planting signs, traffic diversion directional signs, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, working at a factory in Quang Chau Industrial Park, shared: Workers often have to go to work 30 minutes earlier to avoid being late for the timetable. If late, it will affect the bonus for the whole month.
Mr. Nguyen Van Toan - another worker - said that normally it only takes about 30 minutes to get to work, but due to traffic jams, it usually takes him nearly an hour.
It is known that a number of enterprises in industrial parks in Nenh ward have submitted proposals and recommendations to the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on resolving traffic congestion on routes to industrial parks.
Investing nearly 1,000 billion VND in the route
To completely resolve the above situation, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just decided to invest in a road connecting the two industrial parks of Van Trung and Quang Chau. The route is expected to gradually complete the urban infrastructure system, overcoming traffic congestion in industrial parks. Accordingly, the route is about 2km long, starting at the intersection with Vo Van Kiet Street, ending at the intersection with Provincial Road 398 in Nenh Ward, Bac Ninh Province.
The roadbed width is 60m (on the sections adjacent to projects under implementation, the investment scope is calculated to the boundaries of adjacent projects, the scale of the width of the construction cross-section will be adjusted according to the project boundary); the road surface width of the main route is 21m, the construction land area is about 10.93ha.
The total investment is more than 996 billion VND from the provincial budget. The project implementation period is from 2026 to 2029. Of which, the estimated cost of compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance is more than 552 billion VND, the rest is investment in construction.
