Trade Union spends more than 270 billion VND to take care of workers during Tet
On January 20, the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor announced that it is implementing activities of the “Tet Sum Vay” program. This is a meaningful activity initiated by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor for the past 11 years. This program includes activities to care for and support union members and workers during Tet.
Mr. Pham Trong Nhan - Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor - said that practical activities to care for union members and workers are being implemented such as: "Union Tet Market", launching and organizing "Spring Bus Trip", "Spring Train Trip", "Spring Flight Trip" to bring workers home for Tet; organizing activities to visit, give gifts, and wish Tet to union members who are still in difficulty, have low income, have serious illnesses, or are owed wages and bonuses... The total budget for union members at all levels in the province to spend on Tet care this year is more than 270 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province - said that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Binh Duong province promoted visiting and encouraging activities, spending more than 200 billion VND to give gifts to policy beneficiaries. Of this amount, the province supported about 50,000 disadvantaged workers with an amount of nearly 45 billion VND.
“In the long term, we will continue to mobilize social resources to build more social housing areas in areas with a large number of workers; increase investment in building medical and educational facilities to ensure the best conditions and quality for workers in the area,” said Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha.
Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha also praised the activities of the Trade Union to care for workers. The motto of the activities is "all union members and workers have Tet".
Thousands of Tet gifts to disadvantaged children and family members
In recent days, trade unions at all levels in Binh Duong province have been busy organizing support activities for union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Notably, this year, the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor continues to care for orphans whose parents, workers, died from COVID-19. The "Love Tet" program was organized for 100 orphans. Binh Duong Trade Union supported each child with a gift and 1.1 million VND. Units also organized for the children to visit historical sites and have fun.
In Ben Cat city, the Ben Cat Industrial Parks Trade Union also started organizing activities of the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" in 2025. The activities brought warmth, care and sharing from the Trade Union organization to union members. The unit presented cash of 1 million VND/person to 450 union members who were poor, far from home, in difficult circumstances and union members who had work accidents, occupational diseases, and incurable diseases.
The Thu Dau Mot City Labor Federation awarded 50 scholarships and gifts to disadvantaged students in the area, each scholarship includes 1 million VND in cash and a gift of necessities and candy worth 300,000 VND.
Presented 250 gifts to union members and workers with serious illnesses, in difficult circumstances, far from home staying in Binh Duong to celebrate Tet, each gift includes 700,000 VND in cash and necessities worth 300,000 VND
Notably, the Thu Dau Mot City Labor Federation continues to pay attention to freelance workers. The union has presented 214 gifts to union members in the city, each gift includes 700,000 VND in cash and gifts worth 300,000 VND.
1,450 train tickets and 108 free air tickets for workers to return home. The Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor said that the unit also received attention and support from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to take care of workers in difficulty. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supported more than 2 billion VND to present 108 plane tickets and 450 round-trip train tickets for workers to return home for Tet. The Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor supported 1,000 train tickets, worth 2.1 billion VND. Currently, the plane and train tickets have been distributed to union members in difficulty.
