From July 7 to 14, the Ca Mau Provincial Federation of Labor worked with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the commune and ward to discuss and agree on contents related to the establishment of a Trade Union organization in the spirit of Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo, direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Notice No. 1354-TB/TU dated June 29, 2025 of the Standing Committee of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee on the Project to establish a Commune and Ward Trade Union.
The working delegation led by Ms. Huynh Ut Muoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation - worked with the Party Committees of some wards that met the conditions to agree on the plan to establish a Trade Union organization in the grassroots political system.
According to the survey data in Tan Thanh ward and Hoa Thanh ward, there are 68 grassroots trade unions and trade unions with 5,353 union members; An Xuyen ward has 31 grassroots trade unions and trade unions with 2,150 union members; Ly Van Lam ward has 27 grassroots trade unions and trade unions with 1,623 union members.
At the meeting, Ms. Huynh Ut Muoi said that the establishment of the Ward Trade Union is not only to fulfill the role and responsibility of the Ward Trade Union to truly become a reliable support for workers, a bridge between the Party, government and people right from the grassroots level, but also a requirement for organization, a solution to improve the effectiveness of caring for and protecting workers in residential areas, where there are many informal workers and freelance workers living and working. The Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation hopes that the ward Party Committees will pay attention to leading, creating conditions for personnel, facilities and supporting operating conditions for the trade union after its establishment.
Through the work, the Party Committees of the wards will direct the creation of favorable conditions for the Trade Union to operate effectively. In the coming time, the Ca Mau Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to work with the Party Committees of the remaining communes when there are conditions to establish grassroots unions.
The meeting took place in a serious and open atmosphere and achieved high consensus between the two sides. The establishment of a commune and ward trade union organization is identified as a key task in the third quarter of 2025.
It is expected that the announcement ceremony of the establishment decision will take place in July 2025, practically achieving the goal of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (02.9.1945 - 23.9.2025) and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (28.7.1929 - 28.7.2025).
