Responding to Workers' Month 2026, trade union levels in Ca Mau province have focused on implementing many activities to care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; and at the same time promote propaganda and mobilization to develop union members and establish grassroots trade unions in non-state-owned enterprises.
With many synchronous, drastic and practical solutions, the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation has exceeded the target of developing union members assigned in Workers' Month 2026. This result continues to affirm the role and position of the Trade Union organization in gathering and uniting workers, building an increasingly developed Trade Union organization.
Right from the beginning of the year, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation has developed a plan to develop union members and establish grassroots trade unions associated with the "Peak Month for Union Member Development" as directed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Trade union levels proactively review businesses that are eligible to establish grassroots trade unions, directly contact workers to propagate about their rights when participating in trade union organizations; and at the same time coordinate with the government, functional sectors and businesses to remove difficulties in the process of mobilizing the establishment of grassroots trade unions.
With proactiveness and decisiveness in propaganda, mobilization and closely following grassroots levels, the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation has achieved many positive results in developing trade union members. To date, 1,717 new union members have been admitted, reaching 114% of the union member development target set out in Workers' Month 2026.
To achieve the above results, the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation has directed trade union levels to strengthen surveys of enterprises, grasp the labor situation, promote propaganda about the role and benefits of participating in the Trade Union organization; and at the same time coordinate with the government, functional sectors and businesses to create favorable conditions for workers to join the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
In addition to union member development, trade union levels also organize many practical activities to care for the lives of union members and workers such as: visiting and giving 800 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 800 million VND, supporting 9 "Trade Union Homes" for union members in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 325 million VND, free health check-ups for 100 female union members and female workers, organizing cultural and sports activities... Thereby, creating cohesion and enhancing the trust of workers in the Trade Union organization.
Ms. Ngo Diem Phuc - Standing Vice President of the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation - said that the results achieved are thanks to the proactiveness and determination of trade union levels in the province, along with the attention and coordination of businesses and local authorities.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation emphasized: "Overcoming the target of developing union members is not only a result in quantity but also affirms the role and position of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers. In the coming time, trade union levels will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation to attract more and more workers to participate in the Trade Union organization".
