Creating a support for workers
Currently, the grassroots trade union of Dong Thap General Hospital manages 1,197 union members/1,220 workers, reaching a rate of 98.11%, operating in 40 trade union groups. Determining that taking care of union members' lives is a key task, the grassroots trade union has proactively coordinated with hospital leaders to implement many practical policies suitable to actual conditions.
Through the Conference of Civil Servants and Employees and periodic dialogues, many contents beneficial to employees have been added to the internal spending regulations.
Typical examples include supporting female workers on maternity leave, long-term sick leave from 600,000 - 1,000,000 VND/month; supporting study to improve qualifications from 1.2 - 3 million VND/month; buying accident insurance for all officials and employees; additional 15% salary support for newly recruited doctors... contributing to stabilizing income, helping union members and employees feel secure in their work.
Regular care work is carried out promptly and synchronously. In 2025, the grassroots trade union visited 194 sick cases (64.6 million VND), supported 41 funerals (45.5 million VND), 21 weddings (10.5 million VND). 1,778 union members were given birthday gifts with a total budget of 235.6 million VND. The grassroots trade union also organized 08 visits and tourism trips, contributing to restoring labor and strengthening internal cohesion.
During the Lunar New Year At Ty, the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" was effectively implemented with the motto of not letting any union member not have Tet. The Trade Union presented 1,447 gifts with a total budget of 784.7 million VND, supporting 54 union members in difficult circumstances.
Spreading social responsibility
Not only taking care of internal affairs, the grassroots trade union also actively participates in social and charitable activities with a total mobilized amount of nearly 700 million VND. Many meaningful activities have been implemented such as organizing "Meaningful Market" to support 435 patients with a total value of 108.75 million VND; medical examination and free medicine distribution for 1,500 people in Cambodia; mobilizing resources to support hospital fees and essential goods for patients in difficult circumstances.
The grassroots trade union focuses on improving the spiritual life of union members through rich cultural and sports activities such as art competitions, traditional camps, cooking competitions, volleyball, cross-country running... attracting a large number of union members to participate.
Women's work continued to be effective with 663 female union members achieving the title "Good at state affairs, good at housework" (98.96%). The Trade Union organized gifts for 670 female union members on March 8 (134 million VND), 697 female union members on October 20 (139.4 million VND), and many activities to care for union members' children with a total budget of hundreds of millions of VND.
Patriotic emulation movements are widely deployed, associated with professional tasks. In the year, 07 initiatives were recognized, 13 hospital-level scientific research projects were accepted, and many international cooperation research projects were participated in.
Improving the medical examination and treatment process has brought clear results: waiting time for examination has been reduced from 120 minutes to 105 minutes, the number of outpatient visits has increased from 10-15%, contributing to increasing revenue by about 150 - 200 million VND/month, while reducing pressure on the medical team.
On the basis of taking good care of union members, the grassroots trade union has boldly implemented new models associated with professional tasks, typically the "Customer Care Group" model and the "Foreign Language Group" model.
With the achieved results, in 2025, the Trade Union of Dong Thap General Hospital was ranked as excellently completing its tasks and is one of the typical collectives awarded the Emulation Flag by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good labor and building a strong Trade Union organization.
