On April 10, at the conference to review the results of the first quarter's activities and deploy key tasks for the second quarter of 2026, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap determined to focus on proactively responding to difficulties to strengthen care for workers. Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, along with representatives of leaders of grassroots trade unions in industrial parks and clusters in the area.

According to reports, in the first quarter of 2026, Trade Union activities in industrial parks and economic zones continued to promote the role of representing and practically caring for union members and workers. Notably, the coordination of organizing 4 programs "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" in industrial parks, attracting about 2,000 union members and workers to participate. In addition, Trade Union levels have organized visits and presented more than 7,000 gifts to union members, workers, and laborers with a total budget of over 2.3 billion VND; supported 2,770 vouchers to participate in online Tet markets, with a total value of nearly 1.4 billion VND. In addition, 222 gifts from the Party, State and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor were also presented to workers in difficult circumstances.

The "Trade Union Year-End Meal" program continues to spread, attracting nearly 8,350 union members to participate in 16 grassroots trade unions, contributing to strengthening the connection between businesses, trade union organizations and workers. The value of meals has been significantly increased compared to normal days, increasing from 35,000 to 50,000 VND/meal. Despite being affected by the world economic situation, especially recent geopolitical fluctuations, businesses in industrial zones and clusters of the province basically still maintain stable production, ensure jobs, income and welfare for workers, especially during the Lunar New Year 2026 with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet".

However, grassroots trade unions also assessed that the second quarter will face more difficulties. At the conference, many opinions focused on reflecting obstacles in operations and proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of caring for and protecting workers' rights in the coming time.
Speaking to direct, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan acknowledged the efforts of the Trade Unions of Industrial Parks, Dong Thap Economic Zones and affiliated units. At the same time, he requested grassroots Trade Unions to focus on implementing 8 key task groups in the second quarter. In which, the focus is on continuing to propagate the Resolution of Trade Union Congresses at all levels; organizing Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2026 associated with the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1st); participating in movement activities such as excellent occupational safety and health savers contests, provincial and national workers' football tournaments.

In addition, Trade Unions at all levels need to promote coordination in organizing the 2026 employee conference; effectively implement collective dialogue and negotiation; deploy action programs to implement the resolutions of the Trade Union organization and socio-economic development policies.
On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation awarded certificates of merit to 8 collectives and 43 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement and building a strong Trade Union organization in 2025; and at the same time requested the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to commend a typical grassroots Trade Union Chairman in dialogue and collective bargaining work.
