Not only is it an opportunity for labor and production emulation, Workers' Month this year also especially emphasizes activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
Workers' Month 2026 is organized to be associated with the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), thereby continuing to affirm the role, position and historical mission of the Vietnamese working class in the new development stage. This is also an opportunity for trade union levels in the province to clearly show their responsibility to accompany and share with workers, the core force contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
According to the plan, many practical activities will be implemented synchronously. Notable are the launching ceremony of Workers' Month associated with the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; the program to celebrate the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day.
In addition, trade union levels will organize commendation of typical union members and workers; honor outstanding grassroots trade union presidents in dialogue and collective bargaining, thereby spreading positive examples in caring for and protecting workers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Vice President of Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation - said: "One of the important highlights is the "May Dialogue" program, which aims to create a forum for workers to directly express their thoughts, aspirations, and recommendations to employers. Through dialogue, many problems related to salaries, employment, working conditions, and welfare regimes... will be promptly resolved, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
In particular, the work of caring for the lives of workers is identified as a key task throughout. Trade union levels will promote activities to visit, give gifts, and support union members in difficult circumstances, people with work accidents, occupational diseases or critical illnesses. Female workers who are pregnant and raising young children; workers who have reduced working hours and unstable incomes are also prioritized subjects of concern.
Not stopping at material support, the activities also aim to care for the spirit, create motivation for workers to feel secure in working and long-term attachment to the business. Thereby, contributing to improving labor productivity, promoting production and business development and stabilizing social life.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation, Workers' Month is also a peak period for developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions; introducing outstanding union members to the Party for consideration, fostering, and admission. Good models and effective ways of caring for workers will be rewarded and replicated, creating a spread throughout the province.
With many practical activities, strongly oriented towards grassroots levels, Workers' Month 2026 in Gia Lai is not only an occasion to honor workers but also clearly demonstrates the role of the Trade Union organization in accompanying, caring for, and protecting the rights of union members.
