On the afternoon of January 23, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Van Binh - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Saitex International Dong Nai Co., Ltd. (Amata Industrial Park, Long Binh ward, Dong Nai province, with more than 3,000 workers) - congratulated the success of the 14th National Party Congress.
Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union Le Van Binh expects: The Party and State will continue to have more and better policies to care for union members and workers such as: improving income for workers, social housing, kindergartens for workers' children; workers at enterprises expect the Party and State to continue to have more guidelines and policies of concern such as on salary and allowance regimes, and appropriate rest regimes...
According to Mr. Binh, currently, many workers in the area are migrant workers, having to live in rented houses, so they are very much looking forward to the Party and State having more policies to build cheap social housing areas, suitable for low incomes of workers, because currently many social housing areas in Dong Nai province are still priced high, up to billions of VND/apartment, far exceeding the income capacity of workers by about 10-12 million VND/month, only enough to cover family life.
Mr. Binh also expects the Party and State to continue to pay attention to workers' families whose children are studying at private schools because the average tuition fee is high, 4-5 million VND/month, which will be very difficult for workers.
The Party and State continue to pay attention to ensuring that the trade union has a better position and voice in the process of negotiating with businesses to take care of and best protect the rights of union members and workers.
