Enthusiastic initiative helps 8,000 workers have breakfast every day
Mr. Dang Tuan Tu - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Chang Shin Vietnam Company (Thanh Phu Industrial Park, Tan Trieu ward, Dong Nai city) said that workers working at the company come from many provinces and cities across the country, living in many boarding houses around the factory accounting for more than 20% and walking to the company to work.
In the morning, to be on time for work, many workers only buy a package of sticky rice for 10,000 VND - 15,000 VND and then eat it on the sidewalk, creating an unsightly landscape. There is also a situation where many workers faint while working and have to be transferred to the medical room, due to skipping breakfast.
Starting from the above concerns, Mr. Tu proposed to the company's Board of Directors to organize breakfast for workers, but was initially not agreed upon.

Mr. Tu said: After many years, many meetings and the Trade Union gave many "frank" opinions to the company about organizing breakfast for workers as a good thing, beneficial for the business, good for workers' health; at the same time, the trade union also surveyed workers' opinions and was supported by workers, then the company agreed.
Accordingly, each employee when eating breakfast at the company will only have to pay 4,000 VND/person (deducted from salary), the rest will be supported by the company, applied to all officials and employees. Breakfast is also diverse in dishes such as: buns, bread + milk box, drinks, rice dishes... ensuring nutrition and quality.
Better benefits help businesses retain employees
According to Mr. Tu, what the Trade Union wants is not only to worry about workers' health but also to join hands with workers in the face of living expenses and skyrocketing prices. At the same time, showing the company's difference in better welfare benefits helps businesses retain employees. Breakfast also helps workers save more than 100,000 VND per month because eating breakfast outside each month also costs several hundred thousand VND. Since organizing breakfast, no problems related to food safety have occurred at the company.

Mr. Tu also regularly goes directly to the canteen to visit and grasp the actual situation of 4K breakfast for workers. Mr. Tu said that the 4K breakfast program is not only a practical care policy but also a great enthusiasm and concern of the Trade Union and himself.
On average, 8,000 employees register for breakfast every day. The company also always changes dishes for 1 week to avoid boredom for employees. In addition, there are vegetarian dishes and cakes for employees to easily choose.
To allow employees to have a comfortable breakfast, the company arranges a spacious dining room, employees come to the company just need to swipe their cards and then go in to choose dishes according to their preferences, and pay in the monthly salary period.
