Speaking at the working session, talking about the role and tasks of the Trade Union Project Management Board, the President of the VGCL emphasized: This is a new and different operating model from political organizations and unions; performing an important task of taking care of housing for union members and workers.
According to the Report on the organizational structure and tasks of implementing investment in construction of cultural and sports works, housing and asset exploitation at the Trade Union Project Management Board presented by Mr. Le Van Nghia - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of the Trade Union Project Management Board, from August 2017 to 2024, the pilot implementation of 1 trade union facility in Dong Van II Industrial Park, Ha Nam province (now Ninh Binh province) in 2021 including technical infrastructure system, multi-purpose building and 05 5-story residential blocks with 244 apartments.
The Project Management Board has organized the lease of all 244/244 apartments, reaching a rate of 100%; completed the technical infrastructure system and multi-purpose house, outdoor sports field at the trade union facility area in My Tho Industrial Park - Trung An Industrial Cluster, Tien Giang province (now Vinh Long province - phase 1); organized the commencement and construction of 2 cultural and sports facilities implemented under Decision 1729/QD-TTg at the Sports Center under the trade union facility of Tra Vinh province (now Vinh Long province) and the Cultural and Sports House under the Trade Union facility in Binh Dinh (now Gia Lai province)...
In 2025, regarding the deployment of trade union social housing projects, the Trade Union Project Management Board submitted and the VGCL has allowed the commencement of 3 trade union social housing projects in 2025 in the provinces: Tien Giang (now Vinh Long province - housing part); Bac Giang province (now Bac Ninh province) and Ben Tre province (Vinh Long province) with a total of 1,702 apartments, exceeding the assigned target.
In 2026, the Project Management Board will focus on directing contractors to accelerate progress, quality and safety in construction at 3 social housing projects of trade unions: Tien Giang, Bac Giang, Ben Tre; complete investment procedures, meet conditions to start construction of 5 social housing projects of trade unions in 2026 in: Bac Ninh, Quang Ngai, Long An (now Tay Ninh province), Da Nang, Binh Duong (now Ho Chi Minh City) expected about 2,800 apartments...
