Workers stick to the construction site, work overtime to stabilize income
At the Trade Union social housing construction site in Giao Long commune (Vinh Long province), many workers are working continuously in shifts to keep up with the general progress. Although working conditions are still hard, they still maintain a stable working pace, ensuring that construction items are deployed synchronously.
Mr. Le Van Linh, from An Giang, said that the work at the construction site is quite heavy, especially on prolonged hot days. However, he still tries to stick to it because his income ranges from about 500-800 thousand VND per day.
According to Mr. Linh, overtime or overtime has become familiar to many workers. "Although it is harder, in return for a stable income, helping to take care of the family, so the brothers are all trying," Mr. Linh added.

Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, from Hung Yen, shared that what keeps him attached is not only his work but also the spirit of solidarity at the construction site. In labor, workers regularly support and remind each other to complete the work.
“Brothers here live very emotionally, if there is anything difficult, we help each other. Thanks to that, even when away from home, working hard, we still feel comfortable and assured to stick with each other for a long time,” Mr. Manh said.
Proactively overcome difficulties, maintain construction progress
At the construction site, many workers from different provinces and cities gathered to build the project. Whether working in hot weather or sudden rains, they still persistently stick to the construction site.
During working hours, everyone always supports, reminds and helps each other complete each task. Sharing from the smallest things helps workers overcome difficulties, creating a positive working spirit.
Mr. Thai Van Hung - Deputy Project Commander, representative of the construction unit, General Corporation 789 (Ministry of National Defense) - said that so far the project has reached about 20% of the construction volume, ensuring the set progress according to the overall plan.

According to Mr. Hung, the implementation process faced many difficulties such as increased material prices, erratic weather and at times labor shortages after Tet. However, the construction site still maintained stable construction.
The unit proactively coordinates human resources, strengthens on-site inspection, and ensures labor safety throughout the construction process," Mr. Hung added.
The Trade Union Social Housing project in Vinh Long province invested by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with a capital of more than 554 billion VND, with a scale of 699 apartments on an area of more than 3.2 hectares, including 4 7-story blocks and 2 parking blocks.
When completed, the project will contribute to meeting the housing needs of workers, union members, and laborers. According to the plan, the project is expected to be put into use by the end of 2027, creating conditions for nearly 2,000 workers and laborers to settle down and stabilize their long-term lives.
