Digital transformation to get closer to workers

Linh Nguyên |

Digital transformation is being strongly implemented by the Capital's trade union levels with the motto of reaching workers faster and closer.

Innovation in implementation thinking

Not letting digital transformation be just a slogan, many ward trade unions in Hanoi have utilized information technology in propaganda and dissemination of legal knowledge and common knowledge to a large number of officials, union members, and workers through fan pages.

As soon as the Hanoi Labor Federation issued guidelines on selecting typical businesses for workers and laborers of the Capital to organize commendation (expected on October 5), the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward Trade Union presented an infographic to guide implementation. In which, it clearly stated the subjects; specific conditions and standards for businesses and workers to be evaluated; the number of selected. The infographic also has a QR code and a phone number for units to easily contact...

For Dong Da Ward Trade Union, digital transformation is concretized by building a model "1 QR code - 3 utilities". This is a space to look up documents, policies, and trade union activities information and also a place to "Listen to union members speak" - an important shift from waiting for union members to reflect to proactively creating channels for union members to speak out.

Collecting and analyzing opinions and feedback from workers through digital platforms

Hanoi Trade Union levels have strengthened the application of information technology, digital transformation, and deployed "Electronic Offices" in trade union activities.

The Trade Union of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward is determined to implement digital transformation with the goal of transferring at least 50% of management and administration work from traditional methods to digital-based management methods by the end of 2026; reducing 20% of the number of administrative documents issued compared to 2025.

At the same time, the organization of conferences in direct form accounts for no more than 40%, online conferences account for at least 60% of the total number of conferences; streamlining 20% of the total number of conferences and meetings compared to 2025; deploying the application "Digital Capital Trade Union" to 100% of union members; 100% of trade union officials are trained and proficient in using applications, digital platforms and basic artificial intelligence tools in propaganda, management and support for union members...

Reality shows that commune and ward trade unions have invested in upgrading computer equipment and information technology equipment, ensuring infrastructure to serve digital transformation. Deploying and putting into use software to urge and collect trade union financial revenue; summarizing data and posting union member data on the ihanoi system; proposing to build software to manage capital trade union data, focusing on managing union members and grassroots trade unions, better implementing preferential policies and union member welfare programs; caring for the benefits of union members, improving the quality of operations and operational efficiency of trade union levels.

From the reality of applying digital transformation, the Hanoi Labor Federation has some proposals to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Among them is a proposal to apply artificial intelligence (AI) technology and big data (Big Data) to collect and analyze opinions and feedback from workers through digital platforms. From there, support the work of supervision, social criticism and building policies suitable to reality, improving the quality of life of workers.
