Ho Chi Minh City - Tam Phu High School affirms that the information that the school called on parents to contribute nearly 1 billion VND at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year is false.

Tam Phu High School has just issued a notice clarifying information about the sponsorship mobilization plan for the 2026-2027 school year being shared on some social networking sites.

According to the school, recently some social media accounts posted articles with the title "Parents of Tam Phu High School shocked by sponsorship requests, the amount of money is up to 1 billion VND", in which it is stated that the school requires or calls on all parents to contribute a large amount of money at the beginning of the school year.

According to Tam Phu High School, the above information is sensational, interactive and believes that the content posted has been cut short, reflecting not the true nature of the homeroom teacher's implementation in the parents' meeting at the beginning of the school year.

The school affirmed that it did not arbitrarily make illegal collections, did not add a "4th item" worth 200 million VND as information spread on social networks, and at the same time did not have a policy of coercing or egalitarianizing contributions for students and parents.

According to the announcement, the school's sponsorship mobilization plan is implemented according to Circular 16/2018/TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training on sponsoring educational institutions under the national education system.

Tam Phu High School said that this plan has been appraised, approved and approved by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training in Official Dispatch No. 8749/SGDĐT-KHTC dated August 25, 2026. The school also publicly announced the plan according to Decision No. 79/QD-THPTTP dated August 26, 2026.

Regarding the principle of mobilization, the school affirms that the sponsorship is carried out on a voluntary basis, from organizations, individuals, alumni and philanthropists who are dedicated to education.

Accordingly, the school advocates expanding the mobilization target group to the whole society, not focusing or creating pressure to mobilize parents of students who have children studying at the school. The open letter "Calling for education sponsorship for the 2026-2027 school year" is also publicly posted by the school on the website.

Tam Phu High School said that sponsorship sources in cash or in kind after receipt will be accepted, managed, used for the right purpose and made public and transparent about finance by the school and the Parents' Representative Board.

Regarding the information circulating on social networks, the school requests parents and public opinion to receive information from official sources and compare it with the original document.

The school also said that it has made records and collected evidence related to articles and social media accounts that the school believes have acts of cutting information, providing incorrect data, affecting the honor and prestige of the teaching staff. Tam Phu High School said that it will coordinate with functional agencies to handle according to legal regulations.
