On August 20, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) opened a training class for key Trade Union officials (third class) in Ho Chi Minh City. The course was attended by 77 officials who are Executive Committee Members, Inspection Committee Members of the VGCL, along with Vice Presidents of VGCLs of provinces and cities in the Southern region and Central Industry Trade Unions.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Standing Vice President of the VGCL - emphasized that for the organization to overcome difficulties, the decisive factor is that the key cadre team must make themselves stronger.
At the course, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu directly conveyed 3 key topics: New thinking and major contents of the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress associated with digital transformation in trade union activities; Innovating the implementation of the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; Promoting the implementation of trade union culture, worker culture and safety culture at the workplace.
Notably, a topic on culture was chosen to be taught first. Citing the successful lesson from Japan with three pillars including education, small and medium-sized enterprises and the Japanese spirit (also understood as culture), the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor affirmed that a strong organization must originate from culture. Culture contains full discipline, order, spirit of responsibility, love, attachment and solidarity.
Assessing the curriculum, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bien - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that the class provides many practical contents, effectively supporting the advisory and direction work of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation to grassroots trade unions. The topics have promptly updated new thinking and trends, suitable for the current situation.
The training course takes place in 3 days, from August 20 to 22, 2026:
August 20-21: Students study and discuss topics at the Trade Union Guest House hall (HCMC).
August 22nd: Practical internship class at TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Dong Nai City).
The training program gathers a team of experienced reporters including: Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour: Thai Thu Xuong, Nguyen Xuan Hung, Le Van Nghia; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; and representatives of the Internal Political Security Department (Ministry of Public Security).
